Special Exhibition to Celebrate the Opening of the National Hangeul Museum,King Sejong the Great Opens the Age of Hangeul CultureKing Sejong, the most revered person in Korean history, is the creator of Hangeul.The exhibition is presented to mark the opening of the museum and to offer an opportunity to appreciate the King’s true intention of creating Hangeul.The exhibition consists of three parts. The first part is on King Sejong the Great himself in which the King’s life and major achievements are introduced. The second part is on the age of King Sejong in which the process of and the background stories behind the creation of Hangeul are told. The last part discusses the philosophy which Hangeul is based upon and Hangeul culture which is shared among the people.The exhibition is making an attempt to bring together the traditional artifacts and modern artworks, through which visitors will be able to meet the Hangeul culture passed down from the time of King Sejong until today.
